The blue patina triangles on the side represent the mountains, where the rain comes from to fill the desert washes or arroyos and rivers. Copper wire spirals represent the circle of life. Sun and rain from the neck are symbolic of sun showers. The blue face represents the sky. Turquoise, coral, and shell beads adorn the shaman. The shell beadwork on the side set in wire represents raindrops caught by this shaman. The staff spiral represents the circle of life and is adorned with beadwork. Back View: The change in the patinas from blue/cloudy stormy sky to clear shinny copper and back to blue/cloudy stormy is symbolic of the change of weather from cloudy to clear, sunny and back to stormy again.
